  • Prayer is something Christians believe is important. Morning prayers, dinner prayers, bedtime prayers, and of course prayer in public worship are all important. Still, we often have questions about prayer. Do you ever wonder about the usefulness of prayer? What actually happens when we pray? What difference will prayer make? Does God intervene in the world and bring about favorable results for us based on our prayer requests?

This one-session study looks at different views Christians have about prayer, particularly whether prayer just changes the one who prays or whether God is actually affected and might be moved on the basis of our prayer requests. Participants consider biblical examples where the outcome of events changed based on prayer.

We encourage you to consider using this study with another by the same author called "Why Pray?" You may use them in any order, but we recommend using "Why Pray?" first.
