Time for a field trip! If time, location, and weather allow, this would be a perfect opportunity for your group to meet outside and reacquaint yourselves with your natural surroundings!
In Genesis we learn that God has given the earth as a gift, but how we utilize this gift does not always respect its value. Too often we have utilized this earth for our short-term gain with too little thought given to the long-term impact of our activities. Habitat destruction, urban sprawl, unsustainable farming practices, over-development, desertification, pollution, wasteful packaging, and waste production all lay waste to the land that supports us.
In this session we will look at the ways that humans have harmed the land and the ways that we are also working to restore the land. By the end of the study, participants will understand and appreciate how restorative practices embody God's call to be stewards of the land.
