Video games continue to develop and offer an expanding array of options. One can be entertained for hours alone or with friends.

What is the purpose of playing games? How should Christians make decisions about what games to play or avoid? Can violent video games create violent people? Are there limits to what we should play?

This one- session study encourages youth to consider some of these questions. Answers are not given, but discussion will invite youth to create their idea of an ideal game, reflect on what Paul means when he says to not simply adjust to the culture but do what's good for us. How can video games fit in a healthy way with being a Christian?

An extensive introduction will help the leader prepare to lead the session, as many adults have little knowledge of video gaming and how far it has developed.

Consider having an intergenerational evening and allow adults to use the study "Children and Video Games: What's the Problem?" The youth should use this study. Then gather the entire group for a demonstration of some games. Allow time for members of each group to share their thoughts and concerns.
