  • For many, Lent is a time when we challenge ourselves to give up something that holds more power over us than we know it should. And while (to a certain extent) the practices of giving up personal indulgences do capture the meaning of the Lenten journey, in its fullest sense, the season of Lent is about so much more. In this study, youth will use historical, liturgical, and spiritual resources to develop a broad and deep response to the question, what is Lent?

I like this study and can be very helpful especially if you already have a good background and understanding for Lent as a leader. However, Lent does not end on Easter Sunday. It ends at the Great Vigil of Easter Saturday night. Encouraging the full Triduum (Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and the Great Vigil of Easter) is equally as important to the understanding of Lent as anything else.

I agree with the others who have stated that a preview would be helpful.

Yes, this lack of ANY KIND of preview is a real weakness with Thoughtful Christian shopping!

Yes a preview would be nice...info on the author would be good too...agreed...however why can't a Lent study actually take you through Lent and not just offer one session? Maybe that would help our young people be more "thoughtful" about Lent.

I, too, would appreciate a sample before ordering. It SOUNDS good, but so do many other resources.

I second the comment by William Thompson: I need to see some preview before I consider ordering.

Why don't you offer some sort of preview. I really don't like to order sight unseen or with just a bland over all statement
