El perdn es parte fundamental de lo que creemos como personas cristianas, y nada es ms importante para nuestra vida en comn. Sin embargo, este tema no es fcil de conceptualizar ni de practicar. Las definiciones del perdn varan, y los entendimientos personales sobre cmo debemos comportarnos despus de ser lastimados/as o despus de haber lastimado a otras personas, son diferentes en las familias, en las creencias religiosas y en las perspectivas culturales. Los mitos, poco saludables, sobre la fe, el perdn, y la sanidad pueden complicar este doloroso proceso, pero el poder del Espritu Santo hace que lo imposible se haga posible.
En el corazn del evangelio est la gracia reconciliadora de Dios con nuestro mundo quebrantado. En la cruz, Cristo no solo perdon a sus enemigos; sino que encarn el perdn. Su obra de salvacin hace posible que nosotros sepamos que recibimos perdn y que podemos perdonarnos entre s. Esto no es simplemente algo que hacemos de vez en cuando, sino que es un estilo de vida que refleja a Cristo. A su vez, este nuevo estado crea una realidad extravagante y maravillosa en donde vivir como seres humanos significa algo diferente. No es que hemos dejado atrs nuestra humanidad, sino que hemos recibido libertad para reconocer que Dios nos ha adoptado.
La primera leccin considera definiciones del perdn y su complejidad. La segunda leccin es un examen ms prctico sobre cmo vivimos o no vivimos el perdn en nuestras vidas comunes.

Forgiveness goes to the heart of what we believe as Christians, and nothing is more important to our life together. Yet this topic is neither easy to conceptualize nor easy to practice in our life. Definitions of forgiveness vary, and personal understandings of how we ought to behave, after we are hurt or have hurt others, differ by family, religious beliefs, and cultural perspective. Unhealthy myths about faith, forgiveness, and healing can complicate this painful process, but the power of the Holy Spirit makes the impossible possible.
At the heart of the gospel is God's gracious reconciliation with our broken world. Onthe cross Christ not only forgave his enemies; he embodied forgiveness. His saving work makes it possible for us to believe that we are forgiven and that we can forgive each other. This is not simply something we do every once in a while, but it is a way of life that reflects Christ. This new state of affairs, in turn, creates a wild and wonderful reality in which living as a human being comes to mean something brand new. It's not that we have left our humanity behind, but rather that we are set free to recognize ourselves as embraced by God.
The first session considers definitions of forgiveness and its complexity. The second session is a more practical examination of how we live or don't live forgiveness in our lives together.
