예레미야
재앙이 아니라 평안: 희망으로 읽는 예레미야

일찍이 이사야 선지자는 어둠이 땅을 덮고 캄캄함이 만민을 가리울 시대에 대해 예언하였다(사 60:1-2참조). 지금 우리 세상에 어둠이 점점 짙어지고 있다는 것은 누구도 부인할 수 없는 현실이다. 지금 우리 교회는 예레미야 시대의 남 유다와 같이 영적으로 그리고 윤리적으로 심각한 위기를 맞고 있다. 이때에 하나님 나라의 백성들인 우리 그리스도인들은 어떻게 살아야 하는가? 지금 교회의 상황과 다를 것 없이 혹은 현재 교회 상황보다 더 암울하고 어두웠던 시대에 하나님의 선지자로 부름을 받은 예레미야가 가르쳐 줄 것이다. 예레미야는 그러한 캄캄한 시대에 하나님의 부름을 받아 남 유다 백성들에게 어떻게 살아야 할지 그리고 하나님께서 자기 백성들을 향해 어떤 마음을 갖고 계신지를 깨우쳐 줄 것이다.

이 교재를 사용하는 교회들이 어둠이 짙어져 가고 있는 이 시대에 어둠에 마음을 빼앗긴 채 부정적인 사고를 지니고 사는 대신에, 언제 어디에서나 우리에게 소망을 주시는 하나님의 시각을 가지고 세상을 바라보는 눈이 열려지기를 간절히 소망한다.

PEACE, NOT DISASTER: JEREMIAH READ FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF HOPE

Isaiah prophesied the day when darkness would cover the earth and a thick darkness would be over the people. No one can deny we are witnessing his prophecy coming true. At such a time as this, how should we, the people of the Kingdom of God, live? Jeremiah, who was called as a prophet at a similar time or maybe even darker, also has lessons for our current situation as a church. I hope that the people of God who use this study material do not live with a negative mind-set while being preoccupied with dark things that are happening around them. Rather, I pray that their eyes are open to see our world through the eyes of God who tries to instill hope in our hearts, anytime and anywhere.
