already have Feasting on the Word
Connections covers the same passages as Feasting on the Word, but in entirely new ways. First, Connections insists that the best way to dive into any given lectionary reading is to put it into conversation with the rest of Scripture. The larger literary unit to which a reading belongs, the book in which it appears, the genre of biblical content it represents, the other lectionary readings it accompanies, the overall biblical witness to which it contributes: all are brought to bear in plumbing the meaning of a given reading.
