그리스도인의 품과 격
그리스도인의 신앙은 우리의 언어와 행동, 그리고 삶의 방식으로 드러납니다. 언어와 행동 안에 그 사람의 품성과 인격이 담겨 있기 때문입니다. 이 품격을 로마서 5:3-4절에서는 ‘인내는 연단을’이라고 표현하는데, 연단은 ‘단련된 인격, 입증된 성품’(롬 5:3-4)을 뜻합니다. 하여 신앙의 성숙과 표출은 화려한 성공에 있지 않고, 성령의 열매로 드러나는 품성과 인격에 있음을 알 수 있습니다.

이번 티타임에서는 성령의 아홉 가지 열매를 중심으로 열두 가지의 품성과 인격을 다루었습니다. 이 열 두가지를 크게 세 부분, 즉 하나님과의 관계(뿌리), 자신과의 관계(줄기), 이웃과의 관계(열매)로 나누었고, 신앙의 성장을 한 그루의 품격나무가 성장하는 것으로 표현했습니다. 예수님의 품격을 닮아가는 길 위에서 동행자로 함께 동행하는 우리가 되면 좋겠습니다.

Noble Character: The Mark of a True Christian
The faith of Christians is revealed through our words, actions, and way of life, because a person’s character and integrity are expressed through words and actions. Romans 5:3–4 describes this as “endurance produces character.” The word character here means a refined personality and proven integrity. This reminds us that true Christian maturity is not found in outward success, but in the fruit of the Spirit that shows character and personality.

In this Tea Time series, we explored twelve qualities of Christian character, drawing from the nine fruits of the Spirit. We grouped these qualities into three areas: our relationship with God (the roots), our relationship with ourselves (the stem), and our relationship with others (the fruit). Together, they form a “Tree of Character,” a picture of how faith matures and grows. As we continue to walk this journey, may we grow together as companions who reflect the character of Jesus.
