Tea, cake and death
The PC(USA) Brief Statement of Faith begins, “In life and death we belong to God” — yet our culture denies death. We see death as a battle to be won, rather than an inevitable transition to be accepted. A social franchise called the Death Café movement is growing in popularity as it strives to counter the prevailing denial of death and take away the sting and fear of gazing into eternity. Presbyterians Today takes a look at Death Cafés and examines how they may be gaining currency in some of our own Presbyterian churches.
