Philippians & Colossians: Joy and Passion That Sprout from Suffering

We’re living in a secular age, in which the church is no longer leading the world with the light of Christ but rather is being led by the world. What Paul’s sufferings remind us is the narrow gate through which we as the true disciples of Christ must enter. True blessing is not a life without suffering, but it is experienced from overcoming the suffering through walking with the Lord and receiving the power of His Holy Spirit that leave us inspired and rejoiced. In the midst of great affliction and travail, his joy and passion for Christ sprouted like a beautiful flower. Through this reading, it is hoped that the readers may gain new, fresh perspective on suffering, that joy and passion can rise from it when it is met head on with faith in Christ Jesus.
