누가 왕인가?
인간의 권력은 처음에는 주권을 위임받은 섬김으로 시작하지만, 결국 스스로를 주인으로 착각할 때 타락으로 이어지며, 이는 정치의 문제가 아니라 하나님을 떠나 자기 인생의 왕이 되려는 죄된 인간 본성에서 비롯된다. 이 본성은 에덴동산에서 하나님처럼 되려 했던 아담과 하와에게서 시작되었고, 출애굽 이후 이스라엘이 하나님을 왕으로 모시기보다 인간 왕을 요구한 사건에서도 드러났다. 하나님은 이스라엘을 통해 하나님 나라를 이루고자 하셨으나 그 계획은 온전히 성취되지 못했고, 지금은 오직 하나님만을 왕으로 고백하고 순종하는 교회를 통해 그 나라를 계속 확장하고 계신다. 그러므로 교회는 세상의 권력 방식이 아니라, 만왕의 왕이신 하나님의 말씀과 뜻에 순종함으로 하나님 나라의 모형이 되어야 하며, 결국 우리 앞에 놓인 질문은 이것이다. “당신의 왕은 누구이며, 당신의 교회의 참된 왕은 누구인가?”

Who is the King?
<Human authority often begins as a form of entrusted service, but it ultimately leads to corruption when it mistakes itself for ownership. This corruption is not merely a political problem, but arises from humanity’s sinful nature—the desire to turn away from God and become the ruler of one’s own life. This impulse began in the Garden of Eden when Adam and Eve sought to be like God, and it was later revealed again after the Exodus when Israel demanded a human king instead of acknowledging God as their King. God intended to establish His kingdom through Israel, but that plan was not fully realized. Now, God continues to expand His kingdom through the church—those who confess and obey God alone as King. Therefore, the church must not follow the ways of worldly power, but must become a living model of the Kingdom of God by submitting fully to the will and word of God, the King of kings. In the end, the question set before us is this: “Who is your king, and who is the true King of your church?”
