Leader’s guide includes weekly session plans, resource pages, and colorful, helpful tips for teachers. Biblical background information helps your leader feel confident teaching the stories of the Bible with children. Also included in the leader’s guide are supply lists, extra activities, and suggestions for adapting activities for children with special needs.

After Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit enlivened and emboldened the followers of Jesus to go out and tell his story, that just what they did. Beginning with those closest to him, those who had walked and talked with him on a daily basis, they took their call to spread the good news of God’s love in Jesus Christ to whoever they met.

The second half of the summer explores a number of the teachings of this new church. Through Paul, we are introduced to Timothy, a younger man, and learn about those who nurtured him in his faith. This gives us the opportunity to acknowledge those who have taught us. In Paul’s letters, we learn about prayer, generosity, and the great mystery of God who is beyond understanding yet always present and with us. Finally, remembering Jesus’ words and actions we look at something he said and did the last time he spent with his disciples before his death.

Series Description
Growing in Grace & Gratitude is our quarterly denominational curriculum for children ages 3–10. Children see God’s grace in the biblical narrative and in our world today. The curriculum provides age-appropriate opportunities for responses of gratitude through claiming, celebrating, praying, and offering. There is diversity in learning as well as support for leaders to adapt lessons for children with special needs. Coloring illustrations accompany each Bible story to engage children visually. Each session will embrace children in the grace of God through engagement with the Bible that echoes reformed worship: gathering in God’s grace, responding in gratitude, and loving and serving God.
