Ephesians

UNBREAKABLE LOVE THROUGH THE AGES

This Epistle, traditionally known as the Pauline letter, is a circulatory letter in which the imprisoned author wrote to several churches including Ephesus. Due to the precise and exotic character of the letter, John Calvin named it the queen of the Epistles.

The rulers of the world were so confident that once they imprisoned the author, there would be no more evangelism and eventually no more social instability caused by the Christians. But the prison could not put out his enthusiasm for the evangelism. On the other hand he came to know the unbelievable love of God and His grandiose plan for His children in which He has elected them before the foundation of the world for them to be the church of the glorious body of Christ. And this church mysteriously grows up to the measure of the full stature of Christ. Finally, as we fight for the Gospel against the cosmic powers of this present darkness by putting on the whole armor of God, we will be blessed to grow up to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

원대한 사랑 원대한 계획

전통적3 004;로 사도바울의 서신이라고 알려진 에베소서는 감옥에 갇힌 저자가 에베소를 비롯한 여러 도시 교회에 보내는 회람 서신으로 알려져 있다. 아주 짜임새 있는 서신이기에 죤 칼빈은 서신의 여왕이라고 불렀다.

세상 권세자들은 저자를 감옥에 가두기만 하면 더 이상 복음이 전파되지 않고 기독교인들로 인하여 발생되는 어떤 사회적 불안정을 멈추게 할줄 알았다. 그러나 감옥이 사도바울의 복음에 대한 열정을 가두지 못했다. 도리어 감옥에서 더 놀라운 하나님의 사랑과 원대한 계획을 알게 되었고 이 놀라운 계획을 위해 당신의 자녀들을 만세전에 선택하셨고 이 자녀들로 하여금 그리스도의 몸이 되는 영광스런 존재가 되는 놀라운 계획을 설파하고 있다. 그리고 이 교회는 끝없이 그리스도의 장성한 분량까지 자라는 신비스러운 존재임을 역설하고 있다. 전신갑주를 입고 복음을 위해 흑암의 세력 곧 세상 권세자들과 싸울수록 그리스도의 장성한 분량에까지 자라는 축복이 기다리고 있다.
