진정한 왕

이스라엘 전체 역사에서 오고간 42명의 왕들 중 비교적 선한 왕으로 기억되는 왕들은 9명이고, 그 중에서도 정말 선한 왕으로 기억되는 왕들은 다윗과 히스기야와 요시야 뿐이다.  9명의 왕들을 제외한 33명의 왕들은 모두 하나님 보시기에 악한 왕들로서 나라를 망조들게 한 자들이었다.

나라 뿐만 아니라, 기관이나 단체나 지역 사회, 그리고 가정이나 학교나 교회에서도 최고 지도자의 역할은 공동체를 흥하게 할 수 있고 망하게 할 수도 있을 만큼 매우 중대하다.  따라서, 사람들은 믿고 따를 수 있는 훌륭한 지도자(왕)에 목말라하고 있다. 교회가 그 왕이 누구인지를 보여주어야 한다. 우리 인간의 진정한 왕은 오직 예수 그리스도뿐이다. 그러기 위해서는 우리 교회가 예수님을 진정한 왕으로 모시고 살아가면서 세상과 확연히 다른 삶을 보여주어야 한다.

King of Kings

Throughout the history of Israel, there are only 9 kings who were regarded as good. Among those 9 kings, only three (David, Hezekiah, Josiah) were really good kings in the sight of God. Other 33 kings who were evil in the sight of God led the nation of Israel into depravity and judgment of God.

The roles of leaders in a nation, organization, community, family, school, and church are crucial enough to cause them to rise or fall. Accordingly, people are thirsty for great leaders whom they can trust and follow. The church is called to show who that leader is. Our only and true leader or king is Jesus Christ. The church must live out this truth. The church must follow the leadership of Jesus Christ.
