All Christians believe that prayer is important. Most of us continually strive to make prayer a regular part of our day and are glad we do. Even our Book of Order insists that "all meetings of governing bodies (including local church session) shall be opened and closed with prayer." Yet, when asked to lead a prayer out loud with a group, many of us freeze. "Please! Ask someone else--not me!"
If that's your reaction, then this study is for you! It focuses specifically on preparing and presenting a prayer in a group setting, such as a session meeting, Bible study, or church school class. It outlines the four elements of prayer, addresses different types and formats of prayer, and offers helpful tips to guide you as you calmly and boldly lead others into a sacred conversation with God.
