Sometimes the stories of the Bible become so familiar to us that we begin to miss their subtle nuances. This six-session Bible study offers a playful and imaginative twist on some of the most beloved stories of the Bible by presenting them through the perspective of another biblical character present at the time. For example, Martha of Bethany writes a chatty letter to Lydia of Phillipi, sharing household hints and stories of Jesus. In another session, Moses and Aaron's sister Miriam offers her take on the events in Exodus. In another, Joanna, the wife of Herod's steward, shares her memories of Jesus with Luke.
Through these studies, participants are given a firsthand opportunity to imagine what it must have been like to witness numerous events in the Bible through the eyes of Jonathan, Bilhah, Miriam, Martha, Andrew, and Joanna.
This study is highly recommended for summer use as each session is independent of the others in the pack.
