Since 2003, our nation has been involved in a protracted debate about acts of torture and about the motivations that might exist for undertaking them.
There are two primary questions under discussion in the current debate about torture: First, does the U.S. government employ torture? Second, should the U.S. government employ torture? We will consider each in turn. Participants will be encouraged to consider these questions from the perspective of Christian faith. It is recommended that participants read the handout before the session, as there is much to discuss.
