Reality television is the most pervasive form of entertainment in the history of the small screen, and it is here to stay. The Web site RealityTVWorld.com lists nine pages of various reality-based shows that have made their way into our living rooms. It seems absurd, but we keep on watching them and can't wait for more.
This one-session study examines why we are drawn to reality television, lists some good and questionable aspects of reality programs, and describes the variety of programs being produced. Participants will discuss the positives and negatives of this genre of television, clarify a Christian response, and possibly design their own reality show.
