For many Christians, the topic of spiritual gifts raises a variety of emotions. Some feel fear or frustration, wondering if they have a gift or feeling squeezed into a mold. Yet others find freedom in discovering their spiritual gifts. They realize there is not just one way to be a Christian. Rather, God values diverse ways of doing things and gives us different talents to serve.
The first session of this two-session study explores what the Bible says about spiritual gifts and some common misperceptions. The second session explores ways of discovering our spiritual gifts. The goal is not to label ourselves or others or to put people into boxes. Instead, the purpose in discussing specific spiritual gifts is to find a vocabulary to describe different ways of serving, so we can do a better job of serving one another with whatever gift or gifts each of us has received.
