God as described in the Old Testament challenges modern believers to let go of an image of God they can manage and predict. This one-session adult study, "The God of the Old Testament" by writer and scholar Walter Brueggemann, examines God as character, God as agent, and God as problem in the texts of the Old Testament. Participants will discuss the problem posed by the way God sometimes behaves in the Old Testament and how that behavior affects their image of God.
