This four- session study helps youth discover the real Christmas. In each session, participants will grapple with different parts of the Christmas story, including:
- God coming to a poor family and being born in a barn
- What it means to have God born to a virgin
- John the Baptist and his alternative lifestyle
- The effects of the angels' words on the people surrounding Jesus' birth
Written by Beth Herrinton Hodge, each week includes a Participant's Handout and a Leader's Guide with prayers, activities, and more!An additional resource that might help youth connect with the Christmas story is A Stubborn Sweetness and Other Stories for the Christmas Season, a collection of modern-day short stories about Christmas by celebrated young adult author Katherine Paterson. Other useful books include The Advent Jesse Tree, God Is in the Manger, and A Different Kind of Christmas Youth Study.
