Whenever a shooting happens at an educational institution, the media flocks to capture every image and interview whoever they can about the horrific event. Yet, school shootings occur extremely rarely. A much more pervasive problem is ongoing school violence, which is a complex, growing issue affecting most of our children, whether they are in urban or suburban areas.
This one-session study looks at some statistics of school violence, what is being done about it, and what seems to work and not work. Participants are encouraged to show concern for the problem in their own communities.
