Since the time of Abraham, the followers of God haveincorporated music into their worship. Christians today have a rich and varied musical heritage and most assume that music will be a part of their worship. However, Christians disagree about whether it is appropriate or necessary to have a sung liturgy, instrumental accompaniment, electric guitars, or a choreographed praise team.
If your youth have grown up in the church, they alreadyhave a collection of songs and hymns in their memories. They, like most of us, probably don't think a whole lot about what they sing in worship. They just know whether or not they like a particular hymn. Newcomers may have questions about why your church sings what it sings. This session is an opportunity for youth to reflect on what they like and don't like in church music and why.
