The Hunger Games trilogy raises numerous theological themes, and many youth are reading the books and watching the movies as they are being released. In this one-session study for youth, "Hunger Games: A Study on the Book and Movie," participants will focus solely on the ideas of human nature: what it means to be a "good" or "bad" person through the lens of Christian faith, as well as how our perceptions of others affect our interactions with them in community. Using characters from Scripture as well as The Hunger Games, youth will explore the idea that no one is truly all good or all bad. They will also reflect on their own community and discuss the difficulties of living together as God intended when it feels as though we are in constant competition with our peers and friends.
