Peter J. Gomes has been Plummer Professor of Christian Morals and Pusey Minister of Memorial Church at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, since 1974. He was named one of America's top preachers by Time magazine and has received thirty-three honorary degrees. He is the author of a number of books, including The Good Book: Reading the Bible with Mind and Heart; Sermons, the Book of Wisdom for Daily Living; and The Scandalous Gospel of Jesus.
