Azar Nafisi is Executive Director of Cultural Conversations at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, where she also teaches culture and literature at the School of Advanced International Studies. She is internationally known as an advocate for the rights of Iranian youth, women, and intellectuals. Her books include Reading Lolita in Tehran: A Memoir in Books and Things I Have Been Silent About.
