Martin E. Marty is Fairfax M. Cone Distinguished Service Professor Emeritus at the University of Chicago in Chicago, Illinois. He is a contributor for The Christian Century and the Editor of Context, a semimonthly newsletter on religion and culture. He has written over fifty books, including Righteous Empire, which won the National Book Award; Modern American Religion; and The One and the Many: America's Struggle for the Common Good.
